Nicolai Junction is a fictional location on my modern day CR&NW, marking the junction between the CR&NW mainline and the fictional Nizina Branch, located about a mile past McCarthy.

The junction is named in honor of the Chief Nicolai (1840-1900), one of the leading chiefs of the native Ahtna who inhabited the area.  Nicolai was instrumental in leading the Allen expedition to the copper deposits that became the Kennicott mines.
